Below are the Grace Church COVID Guidelines as of April 2022:
While CDC metrics put Alexandria in the low level for community COVID transmissions, Grace will remain mask-optional for people who are vaccinated.
We continue many of the COVID mitigation protocols we have had in place for some time now. The facility is thoroughly cleaned every Sunday. We also will keep our side pews distanced for those who want more space at services. As much as possible, we will leave windows open in the auditorium when we gather there.
Our liturgy is also modified. At most services, we will receive the bread at stations at the crossing, not at the altar rail. Wine is available only by having the celebrant dip the wafer in the chalice before handing you the bread. Clergy will wear masks while distributing bread.
Our staff may choose to be unmasked during their work, but we will gladly put on a mask at your request or if we see you wearing one.
We will continue to offer worship and other events in both live and virtual formats whenever possible. Worship can be livestreamed from the nave; meetings and other events in the Saint Mark Room can be joined by Zoom.
We encourage you to stay informed about local infection rates and to make thoughtful and intentional choices for your own well-being and the well-being of this community.
