This adult Christian education program runs September – May each year. As the name conveys, this program was originally designed to educate the lay ministry. However, regardless of your experience or intentions, this program offers a welcoming setting for exploring or refreshing your faith. Seekers welcome.
The 4 year program provides a specific study focus each successive year. Year 1 focuses on the Old Testament, Year 2 on the New Testament, Year 3 on History of Christianity, and Year 4 on Practical Theology. Participants enroll for one year at a time, providing the flexibility to create schedules that work best for each individual.
Participants in each year of study gather as a combined group, typically on a weekday evening, to share both questions and insights. We learn and grow together through honest dialogue and reflection on our lived experience.
Annual tuition is typically about $325, and participants buy their own books. Limited scholarship assistance is available. Contact efm@gracealex.org to register or receive more information.
Education for Ministry is a program of Sewanee, The University of the South, School of Theology.
