Grace Church will hold its Annual Meeting by Zoom at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 30, 2022,
following the live-streamed Eucharist that will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. The meeting will be held, as
in 2021, by Zoom, and it will be conducted much as it was last year.
The meeting, to be called to order no later than 11:45 a.m., will include reports on parish activities over the past year, from clergy, officers of the vestry, and other lay leaders. And the congregation will elect five vestry members for 3-year terms. We have a fine group of 11 candidates for vestry who have diverse experiences and outlooks for the future.
Now the nuts and bolts: The vestry election at the meeting will be held using Election Runner, a platform that Grace Church used last year. Members of the congregation will be sent, by email, a link to a simple, easy-to-use registration, which will enable the distribution of ballots in a manner that allows votes to be made anonymously in real time. The Canons of the Diocese do not allow proxy or absentee voting. In accordance with Diocesan canons, all adult communicants (those age 16 and older) who are in good standing at Grace Church, may register and vote in the Annual Meeting. In order to vote, each individual person attending the meeting must register using a separate email account and a separate electronic device (i.e., smart phone, computer, or tablet). Along with the link for registration, the email sent to parishioners will include contact information for getting assistance with technical issues that may arise in setting up or using separate email accounts.
