Dear Friends in Christ,
Easter day is a fading memory, but Easter season is with us for a whole fifty days. And I want to continue to think about the question of the season: What is it like to live as a Christian after the resurrection? What do we want our new life to look like?
I still don’t have a definitive answer (if one exists) to either of these questions. But this week I hope you will join me in two journeys towards an answer:
- Our adult forum series at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays during Easter is on the topic of “Resurrection and Regathering.” Last week, Chrissie grounded us in a bible study of the story of the resurrection appearance to Thomas. This week, I’ll be speaking about the opportunities ahead for our parish, and we’ll continue reflecting together each week on a different aspect of our life together.
- As we think about rebuilding our church, we also think about rebuilding our world. Part of that rebuilding is the work our national church is doing around race in this country. Our Presiding Bishop is offering a webinar on Tuesday, April 27, around the Sacred Ground curriculum. We hope to convene a Sacred Ground curriculum here at Grace in the near future, and this webinar is a great entry point.
We get to choose who we want to be in this new life. I hope you’ll join with me in reflecting on the identity we choose.
Yours in Christ,
Anne+
