Grace Weekly News for March 24, 2017

Choral Evensong on Sunday at 5:00 p.m.

Choral Evensong will be sung by the Adult Choir at5:00 p.m.  The service features Thomas Tallis’ Dorian Service, plainsong Preces and Responses and Orlando Gibbons’ Behold, thou hast made my days. The choir will sing at the front of the church with the continuo organ.  Following the closing organ voluntary, the Holy Eucharist will be celebrated. All are encouraged to attend this marvelous service, which is one of the treasures of our Anglican heritage.

Easter Flower Deadline April 2nd

Do you want to be listed in the Easter Flower bulletin?  Forms and payment must be received by the office by the end of the day on Sunday, April 2nd.  Checks must be made out to Grace Episcopal Church and have “Easter Flowers” in the memo line.  Forms will be available in the Narthex and the Commons.  It is also possible to donate online. Easter Flowers are $40.00. If you have questions, please contact Lisa Doelp.

Christian Formation Hour

Adult Forum: Human Rights in El Salvador and Central America

Join seminarian Jason Roberson to discuss gang-related violence, forced displacement, and human rights violations in El Salvador and the “Northern Triangle” of Central America.  Jason will share pictures and reflections from his recent trip to El Salvador.

Inquirers Class

This week’s topic is Holy Week Devotions.  It will be led by Father Malm.  It will meet in the St. Mark Room.

Special Lenten Service Activities in Sunday School

Join your elementary-aged Sunday school classes for three weeks’ worth of service projects during Lent

  • 3/26 – Decorating pillowcases for the local homeless shelter
  • 4/2 – We invite our parents to join us as we make fleece blankets for our local homeless shelter. Directions will be sent in our Wednesday RoundUp. Please email [email protected] if you are not receiving the weekly parent email and want to subscribe.

Easter Cards

Grace Pastoral Care and the Card Ministry are preparing for parishioners to sign Easter cards on Palm Sunday for college students, parishioners in the military and serving abroad, those preparing for Confirmation at the Easter Vigil, and parishioners on the prayer list. Please send any updates in status — graduation dates, address changes, change of duty station — to [email protected] or [email protected].  We also welcome any volunteers to help us set up on April 8.
