To Love, Proclaim, and Serve God through

Amar, Proclamar y Servir a Dios a través de

  • life-giving liturgical worship
  • joyful community
  • empowering others

We live our mission through worship, in which lay adults, children and youth participate alongside our clergy.  Traditional, life-giving Eucharistic liturgy and fine music are hallmarks of worship at our parish, and we have weekly services in both English and Spanish.  We create a joyful community with a harvest of fellowship activities and events for all ages.  We empower and serve others through vital ministries, particularly around feeding the hungry.  Please explore our website to get to know us or, better yet, come visit!

Grace Weekly News for March 31, 2017

Easter Flower Deadline THIS SUNDAY! (April 2)

This is your last chance to submit forms and payment for Easter flowers.  Checks must be made out to Grace Episcopal Church and have “Easter Flowers” in the memo line.  Forms will be available in the Narthex and the Commons.  It is also possible to donate online using the flower form here.  Easter Flowers are $40.00. If you have questions, please contact Lisa Doelp.

Candy for Easter Egg Hunt

It is time to fill the eggs for the annual Easter Egg Hunt that takes place during the Sunday school hour on Easter Sunday. Our youth will be taking on that task during their gathering on Sunday evening, so while it is short notice, all candy donations on Sunday would be most appreciated! Please bring individually wrapped candy that is small enough to fit inside the plastic eggs.

Grace Garden Spruce Up

Join other Grace parishioners Saturday morning, April 1st at 9 a.m. (weather permitting), to spruce up the flower beds around the church for the upcoming Easter Vigil and Bishop’s visit. No green thumb necessary, just some of your time to help weed, edge and mulch the beds. Bring your gloves and gardening tools if you have them. Already have plans? Donations of annuals and mulch are appreciated and can be dropped off that morning. This is an ongoing project and help is needed throughout the year and much appreciated. Questions? Contact Kristine Hesse at kristine.hesse@gracealex.org.

Agape

Come join the Fellowship celebration of the year as we cast off the Lenten fast and make a joyous Easter Feast and welcome our Bishop! The reception is in Merrow Hall Auditorium immediately following the Easter Vigil on the evening of Holy Saturday, April 15. See the sign-up poster in the Foyer near the glass doors to the parking lot to sign on for set up, clean up and bringing finger savories or sweets! Beverages appreciated as well. If you have questions, please email Ashby Rushing at ashby.rushing@gracealex.org

Sign up for Maundy Thursday Prayer Watch

A sign-up chart is hanging in the Narthex for the Prayer Watch that will begin following the Maundy Thursday liturgy and end at 6:30 am on Good Friday. The prayer watch is in answer to the admonition by Jesus at Gethsemane: “So, could you not watch with me for one hour?”

Christian Formation Hour

Parent Forum: Parent Forum will be held in each of the Sunday School classrooms. K-1 will join Godly Play in the Children’s Chapel and grades 2-5 will spread out in the three classrooms upstairs. Together with your child(ren), you will make fleece blankets for our local homeless shelter. There is no Adult Forum.

Inquirers Class: This week’s topic is Easter Narratives Devotions.  It will be led by Father Malm.  It will meet in the St. Mark Room.
