Dear Grace Church community,
We are writing to inform you that one student and one fully-vaccinated staff member of Grace Episcopal School have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) in the past 2 days. The Grace School community also has been notified, and the school is following all CDC and Virginia Health Department guidelines mandated for K-12 school operations.
Out of an abundance of caution, we are closing the church building and parish office, and all on-site worship services and church activities are cancelled for Sunday, May 2 and Monday May 3.
On Sunday morning, May 2, please join us on ZOOM (Check your email for the Zoom link):
*9:30 a.m. Online Worship
(*note time change)
10:00 a.m. Zoom Coffee Hour & Adult Forum
Cancelling Sunday’s on-site activities is the safest option and follows both CDC and Virginia Department of Health guidelines for potential exposures in religious organizations and guidelines for schools. Anyone not potentially exposed is able to return to the building on Tuesday, May 4.
We have stated from the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic that our priority has been to love one another as Christ loves us. We have shown that love by acting with an abundance of caution to protect all in our church community, especially those who are most vulnerable to COVID. This situation is no different.
Please pray for all people affected by COVID directly and indirectly, and particularly for the Grace Episcopal School community.
Faithfully,
Anne Turner, Rector
Elizabeth Legere, Senior Warden
Jason Roberson, Associate Rector
