Dear Friends in Christ—
One of the strangest features of parish life since I started at Grace in January is that it has been largely one-way. You, the people of Grace Church, are sometimes only known to me often only by pictures in the directory. I keep you in my mind as I write sermons, or letters like this one. On Sunday mornings in the nave, you are the little blue light at the back of the church, positioned over the livestream camera to remind me where you are watching from.
That is about to change.
Most notably, on Sunday, June 6, we will reopen for in person, indoor worship, as you read earlier this week. I have met many of you at outdoor worship, and I look forward to meeting many more of you in the nave.
But—there is another way for you to make yourself known to me and to the leadership of this church. Our Communications Team has put together a survey to get a sense of our community as we emerge from the pandemic. This is not meant to be comprehensive but rather a snapshot. It is a tool to capture not so much numbers as the quality of our life. What are we worried about? What are we hopeful for?
I encourage you to be more than a little blue light. Say hello in all the ways you can, and please let us know what’s on your heart.
Yours in Christ,
Anne
