Theological Education Sunday
VTS will be lifting up and celebrating Theological Education Sunday on February 3, 2019. This is the Sunday set aside for prayers and support for all those whose ministry is the educating and forming of Christian leaders, both lay and ordained. Last year, VTS shared the following collect and prayer that we received from the Rev. Leon Spencer (VTS ’89). We are pleased to do so this year.
Collect for Theological Education Sunday
Almighty God, You have enlightened your Church By the teaching of our theological seminaries; Enrich them evermore with your heavenly grace, Bless and guide those within who teach and who learn; Deepen their love and strengthen their faith So that they may be formed to lead us To proclaim the truth of your salvation, To the glory of your Name. Substantially adapted from An Anglican Prayer Book (Southern Africa) and A New Zealand Prayer Book.
Collect for a Seminarian on Theological Education Sunday
We give you thanks especially for Ashley Mather and Matthew Dumont-Machowski; Fill N. with faith, hope, and love As N. is formed for the ordained ministry; May s/he be imaginative, expectant and willing to learn So that by her/his life and ministry We shall know that Christ dwells in her/his heart; Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

This is the final Sunday to pick up your Contribution statement in the Commons. Any statements left on Monday will be mailed out.
Beginning in March, we will be adding an Anniversary section to the prayer list. If you would like to have your anniversary included, be sure to contact the parish office to make sure that we have the date in our computer system.
