ALIVE! provides food, furniture, child development services and emergency assistance to needy families and individuals in our community.
Carpenter’s Shelter
Carpenter’s Shelter provides free services to the homeless through a daytime drop-in shelter, a temporary residential shelter, an overnight hypothermia shelter during the cold weather months, an aftercare program for shelter graduates, and transitional housing assistance. The Grace Church Outreach Committee also provides annual financial support.
Community Lodgings, Inc.
Located in the Arlandria neighborhood, Community Lodgings, Inc. (CLI) provides affordable housing and counseling for homeless and low-income families. Training in computer skills and job-betterment, as well as after-school help for at-risk children are also provided. Grace Outreach Committee supports CLI’s annual school-supply drive and provides an annual financial grant. Volunteers are needed as tutors and mentors. Winter Overflow Shelter
During the coldest months of the year, the Church of St. Clement on Quaker Lane hosts an overflow shelter for homeless men. Grace volunteers staff the shelter two nights each month from January through March in two shifts, before and after midnight.
