The liturgical calendar presents many opportunities for worship beyond our regular services. This is a sampling of the special services held through the year.
Advent and Christmas
During the season of Advent, our children present a Christmas pageant on a Sunday evening. Our choir frequently presents a special lessons and carols service on a Sunday evening or at a Sunday morning service. We hold several masses each Christmas Eve and a mass on Christmas day.
Lent and Holy Week
During the Lenten season, our service schedule expands to include a Monday night Eucharist in the nave at 6:30, followed by a simple supper and program. On Fridays, our noonday service includes a journey through the Stations of the Cross. We begin Holy Week on Palm Sunday, when parishioners are invited to process into the sanctuary with palm fronds. During Holy Week, we offer a beautiful Tenebrae service on Wednesday and Friday, a Maundy Thursday service with foot washing followed by a prayer vigil, and a special Good Friday service with readings from parishioners. The week culminates in the Easter Vigil on Saturday night, followed by an Agape feast. On Easter Sunday, we celebrate with Festival Eucharists.
Other Services
Watch our calendar for more special services, including those for the Annunciation, July 4, Thanksgiving, and New Year’s Day. In addition, our choir presents special Evensong services followed by a Holy Eucharist on Sunday evenings periodically throughout the year.
